Our Adventure in Turkey, Greece, and Paris April 12-28, 2013

Our 1st night in Istanbul, Turkey.  Eating dinner on the  Water Edge of the Bosporus Strait.
Absolutely a magical place to start our adventure!
We topped our dinner off with Hot Chocolate!
It was so thick, it was like drinking Nutello!
So after that, we had Hot Chocolate every chance we could!
Started our touring by seeing the Obelisque.
Women had to cover their head inside the Mosques!
 The Hagia Sophia Mosque
 The Blue Mosque
 Inside the Blue Mosque.
There is a live cat seated on the left.
Everyone was petting it and taking pictures of it.
Entering the Topkapi Palace of the Turkish Sultans.
The Sultans Palace is in a very strategic place over looking the water ways.
One of my favorite places inside the Palace.  The Tulips were blooming everywhere
Holland actually stole the tulip bulbs from Turkey!
 Flowers everywhere!
A view of the Sultans Palace from our River Cruise.
The Blue Mosque is in the background to the left
 The Hagai Sophia Mosque
The Chora Church (A Christian Church) with beautiful Mosaics
in tile of the life of Christ
 Shopping in the Grand Bazaar!
A little bit of everything for sale
Eating lunch in a Turkish Kabob shop.
The meat was Lamb!
1st Day on our Cruise Ship.
Passing by a Greek Island where Monks live.
No females are allowed there except donkeys!
Will testing out the Mediterranean Sea Temperature.
A wave came up and surprised him, getting him wetter than he wanted!
The water was very cold but crystal clear and beautiful!
One of many meals on the deck of the boat.
This Head Waiter knew we didn't drink wine, so he
got us our own Grape Juice. He found us and served us at each evening meal.
Above: is the Library in Ephesus, Turkey
Below: the Theatre where Paul preached.
Paul told the Silversmiths to stop making and selling
the Idols to Diana. Paul was also attacked by Lions
in this theatre.  He wasn't real popular here!

Pergamon, one of the ruins we rode a ski lift up too.
There is a theatre in the side of the hill.
A Greek Island we walked around on.
I loved this climbing Geranium.
All the houses are painted white with colored doors
This is a cool ruin where they found evidence of a sacrificed Ibex!
A volcano was about to ruin their city and they were trying to appease
the Gods with an animal sacrifice!
This was my favorite Greek Island; Santorini!
It is situated on top of the mountains that are the remains of the caldron
of a volcano.  The houses are all white and look like snow from our ship.
We rode a ski lift to reach the top of this city too.
The remains of an ancient city on the Island of Crete, Greece
Part of our ship.  Our windows are to the left of the life boat,
the two just as the stair railing is coming down.
We were very pampered on the cruise!
The Lions Gate at the entrance of another ancient ruin.
This is were Agamemnon lived in the Helen of Troy story!
We are wearing our Whisper Boxes.
Our guide could talk and tell us what we were seeing!!
Here we are at a theatre where the sound was so amazing
you cold hear a pin drop on the stage from the top of the stands!!
Our Cabin Room!  Pretty deluxe!  We enjoyed hanging out and watching movies!
The movies we watched were filmed in the locations we were touring!
I especially liked the Helen of Troy movie! Plus James Bond 007: From Russia with Love,
Jason & the Argonauts, Bourne Identity. etc!
 My Helen of Troy Crown!!
On top of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece.
Statues of the women as pillars are very famous!
The Parthenon, which was the temple to Athena: the Goddess of Wisdom.

View from the Acropolis overlooking Mars Hill.
This is where The Apostle Paul also preached against
worshipping false Gods!
Fun Friends we made on the trip: Bill & June, Martin & Toni.
(June and Martin were brother & sister)
They were both from Ontario, Canada.
Our last day on the ship!
We ate like Kings and Queens every meal!!!!
3 Days in Paris: First stop: Tower Eiffel!
We rode to the top and took in the view and got
the lay of the land!  Magnificent!!
River Trip on the Seine.  I am listening to the guide tell us what we were looking at!
We are just going under one of many bridges.  This particular bridge was a gift from the Russians.
It was very ornate and beautiful.  The weather was so warm, people were out sitting along the banks
of the river enjoying the evening!  I loved Paris!  I could live here!
Inside the Louvre with the famous Mona Lisa
 Outside the Louvre!
A bridge with Paddle Locks all over it.
People leave their love of Paris by symbolically
locking their hears with the city!
Marie Antoinette was imprisoned here before she was beheaded
at the Plaza de Concorde!
Cathedral of Noter Dame!  Beautiful, flowers were gorgeous!
Our Hotel was within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower
Arch de Triumph. The largest roundabout with 16 roads coming off!!
We walked from here down the Camp Elysees to the Louvre.
I love Paris!
Looking back up from the Louvre to the Plaza de Concorde to the Arch de Triumph.
The Arch is to the left of the Obelisque.
The Extravagant Gate to the Palace at Versailles
The Gardens in the back of the Palace of Versilles

2 of Eight sets of Missionaries we met on our trip
The two Missionaries are from SLC and Lindon, Utah
They run each morning to the Eiffel Tower for their exercise!
Last Day in Paris posing like "A Rainy Day in Paris"
One of Will's favorite pieces of Art.
What a fantastic trip we had!
