Getting Mike ready for College

We met Alex for dinner. He rented Mike a lap top so Mike would be up to date
in the technology department! Alex is such a great young man to help us out!
We stopped @ Promontory Point where the railroads from the East & West met.
There is a special railroad tie placed there to commerate the final one.
At the ceremony to complete the railroad, a solid gold spike was driven in a hole already made so the spike would not be ruined. The spike was later removed to a museum @ Stanford University in California. Gov. Stanford provided a great deal of money to finance the railroad.
The Steam Locamotive also moved up and down the tracks as a demonstration.
Idaho is really beautiful. We ate Kentucky Chicken @ the River Run Park just below the Idaho Falls Temple. It was a beautiful evening.
Mike in front of "Old Faithful" just before it was going to shoot!
There she blows!

Starting College @ BYUI

Just after watching "Old Faithful" we took a quick picture.
Chapman Hall, Mike's new home for the next few months
This is his window! Apt. 363
Mike gets to look @ this beautiful temple each day.
The Rexburg Temple is at the top of the campus.
The whole campus is just beautiful.

San Francisco in a Day!

Our First stop in SF. "The Painted Ladies"
The Victorian Houses are pretty much alike just painted different colors!
The Victorian Houses are one of my favorite parts of SF!
We drove through Haight-Ashbury (our first stomping grounds), St. Mary's (where Amy was born) and the Golden Gate Park. Mike liked the beautiful park. We even saw the Buffalo!
We had a fancy breakfast @ the Cliff House. (Sea Food Omlete).
Foggy coastline by the Cliff House.

San Francisco in a Day!

Mike's best view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
A true SF day. Foggy!
The fog did burn off by the Afternoon but the top of the bridge was still buried in the fog!
UOP Dental School where Dad became a Dentist!
Someday, Mike will be a Dentist too!
Palace of Fine Arts. Mike really liked this place.
Pretty cool place.

San Francisco in a Day!

Taken just after Mike drove the Crookest Street in the World.
Coit Tower
Pier 39, watching a few Sea Lions lay around!
Relaxing just after eating Clam Chowder in the Sour Dough Bread Bowls @ Pier 39!
A fun tradition!

San Francisco in a Day!

Waiting to ride the Powell Mason Cable Car!
We are on!! Got the perfect seats.
Down on the Marina, It was always so foggy Mike never got to see the top of the Bridge.
Fort Mason just under the Golden Gate Bridge was a fun stop.
Mike ended up getting a new coat and hat to keep warm.
Chilly SF weather!! Loved it. Big change from Las Vegas!

San Francisco in a Day!

The famous Mermaid pond @ Ghirardelli's
Our 2nd trip to Ghirardelli for Ice Cream Sundae's
This is as close as we got to Alcatraz! The days were pretty foggy!
Mike liked driving in SF. It was fun to have him drive up the steep streets, but especially to see his face as we drove down them!!!! Here he is driving across the Bay Bridge. The Bay is out the window! Mike is a great driver!

San Francisco in a Day!

Sunday we went to the Oakland Temple. It was amazing!
This is a view from the Oakland Temple looking over to SF.
If you look close, you can see the Golden Gate Bridge. This was the first full view Mike had of the Bridge because while we were in the City . . . it was too foggy!
Up on top of the Temple. Special place!
Prime Rib @ Gullivers. This is my favorite resturant in SF. The food is too die for!
Creamed corn, creamed spinach, Yorkshire pudding, baked Potato, sour dough bread, and the best Prime Rib!!! yummm!
