Newport Beach Vacation July 2-9, 2011

Sat: Our first meal. We celebrated all the holidays during the week.
Here we are having Christmas Dinner. BBQ Ribs, Baked Potato, Christmas Jello,
homemade bread, & Christmas Coconut/Pineapple Cake.
Everyone received a beach towel as their gift!
Uncle Steve & Aunt Suzie joined us almost everyday to celebrate. Their new doggie, Teddy, came too!
Sunday we went to church by the Newport Beach Temple. This chapel was amazing! It was like a museum with some of the most beautiful art work of the church.
We celebrated Easter on Sunday with Ham/Funeral Potatoes/Corn/Coconut Cake.
We were going to have an Easter Egg hunt on the beach but London & Brooklyn came later!
Will & Sue's cousin Lance Robinson paid us a visit. He rode his bike down to the War Zone (as he called it) He is a successful Dentist and son of the Mysterious Uncle Jack!
Lance & wife, Tina took Will & I to dinner. It was wonderful! Then they took us to their home on Lido Island (close by us). It was amazing too!
Beach Fun
Somethings never change! Jeff is still bugging Mike
What happened to Mike? One way to enjoy the beach.
We all took turns cooking dinner. Kiley & Jeff, Steve & Suzie took the 4th of July
We had hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, grape salad, and home made root beer with dry ice!
Kiley decorated the 4th of July cake in the center of the table. That night we watched the fireworks on the beach and had 4th of July Smores with red, white, & blue Marshmellows!
We were also in a neighborhood that had it's own excitement!
We watched a man beat up a woman and the police come and take them away in a patty wagon!
London helping the big boys fly the kite!
Matt was the master kite flyer! He learned all his tricks in Brazil!
The kite is high in the upper left of picture.
Sweet Amy! This is proof that Madison was there too!
Steve warming Brooklyn up after taking her for a swim!
London making magic with her tea pot in the sand!
Steve loved the Water! Brooklyn did too! Mike caught a wave and rode that boogy board all the way into the shore! Pretty impressive
London was so busy!
Fun times!
Steve & Amy cooked Tuesday night (Halloween). They made yummy Egg & Sauage Breakfast Burritos. Steve's speciality. It really didn't have anything to do with Halloween but the dinner was a real treat!
Steve coached Amy into the water and promply walked into a hole and fell into the water!
Amy wasn't so sure she wanted to continue on with him!
Miss London on her bike ride. It was so much fun!
Brooklyn's turn. London loved ringing the bike bell!
Amy & Steve took a little spin around the Beach on the bikes too!
London & Brooklyn did just fine with Grandma & Grandpa while they were gone!
Amy & Steve had great entertainmant for the girls. All kinds of Beach toys & bubbles kept them very happy!
Busy Girls on the Beach. London loved the sand! She could have made castles decorated with sea shells and mud pies all day. But, she wasn't too fond of the ocean water and waves!
On the other hand, Brooklyn got excited about the ocean waves crashing in but it took her a little getting use to the sand! Notice their fancy hair bows from Aunt Soup!
Quiet moment for Amy & Steve!
Matt dipping Brooklyn's toes in the water! She liked that!
Lunch @ Uncle Steve's favorite Mexican Shop in Laguna Beach.
The food was pretty good!!!!

Matt, Mike, Dad, & Jeff out of the Water
Matt & Mike's night to cook. This night our theme was Valentine. We had Itallian Speggetti, Garlic toast, and Wilted Spinach Salad. Suzie brought a Berry Cheese Cake. The berries were from her garden! We showed our love to each other by writting down something nice about each other. Happy Valentines!
Brooklyn had lots of cuddle time with all of us but especially Grandpa!
Ready for bed in her Monkey PJ's.

Newport Beach Vacation

Brooklyn & Grandma enjoying a Star Fish caught that morning on the Beach.
We put him back in the ocean---but we enjoyed our visit with him!
On Thursday we had a big Thanksgiving Dinner with Turkey, Dressing, Sweet Potato Pie, Garlic toast, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Cherry Pie Al la Mode. It was a fun feast and everyone shared a personal parable of our Beach Experience to life and how much Our Heavenly Father loves us.

After walking along Crystal Cove Beach, we met Steve & Suzie for lunch @ the Date Shack.
Kiley & Jeff's last bike ride of many. This seemed to be one of everyone's favorite things to do
We could ride down to Balboa & Newport Piers or up to Huntington Pier.
Pretty good bike rides but so enjoyable with the warm sun and cool breeze.
The Boardwalks were so fun too, with all the fun beach houses to look at on one side and the ocean waves on the other side!
The Beach House we stayed in is behind them.
Captain Mike steering the sail boat around Redondo Beach.
We went about 5 miles in two hours.
We learned that sailing is for those with stout and strong stomachs!
Boarding the 30 Foot sailboat with smiles!
Will grew up sailing with his family--He was so excited for us to experience sailing!
